LejSmart – Rental Terms and Conditions

Version 1.0 (Go Live)

These Rental Terms and Conditions apply to all vehicle rentals through LejSmart. By completing a booking, the renter accepts these terms.

1. General

• The rental agreement is entered into between LejSmart and the renter.
• The renter must hold a valid driving licence and meet the applicable driver requirements.
• LejSmart may refuse or cancel a booking due to failed identity verification, payment issues or suspected misuse.

2. Booking and Payment

• A booking is only binding once confirmed by LejSmart.
• Payment must be made using the available payment methods shown during checkout.
• LejSmart may request additional documentation before approving a booking.

3. Refundable Security Deposit

• A refundable security deposit is reserved during the rental period.
• The deposit will be released as soon as possible after the vehicle has been returned and approved.
• LejSmart may deduct documented costs such as damage, extra mileage, missing fuel, cleaning, fines, fees or other contractual charges.

4. Protection Packages

• Customers may choose from the available protection packages during booking.
• The selected package affects the maximum financial liability in the event of a covered damage claim.
• The package does not remove the renter's obligation to comply with these Terms.

5. Cancellation Policy

• More than 7 days before rental: 100% refund.
• 48 hours to 7 days before rental: 75% refund.
• Less than 48 hours before rental: No refund.

6. Vehicle Collection

• A valid driving licence must be presented.
• Only registered drivers may operate the vehicle.
• Eight mandatory photos (4 sides and 4 corners) must be taken at collection.
• Recording the odometer and fuel level through the system is recommended.

7. Use of the Vehicle

• The vehicle must be used responsibly and lawfully.
• Smoking and e-cigarettes are prohibited.
• The vehicle may not be used for illegal activities, motorsport or towing unless agreed.
• Driving outside Denmark requires the 'EU Driving' add-on.

8. Driving within the EU

• Driving within the EU is only permitted if the option has been selected during booking.
• The renter is responsible for tolls, parking fees, fines and similar charges.

9. Damage and Accidents

• Any damage or accident must be reported to LejSmart immediately.
• The renter must assist with documentation, including photographs, third-party information and police reports where relevant.
• Failure to report damage may affect the renter's liability.

10. Vehicle Return

• The vehicle must be returned at the agreed time and location.
• Eight mandatory photos must also be taken at return.
• The fuel level must match the level at collection.
• The key must be returned according to the digital return instructions.

11. Fees

• Additional cleaning: DKK 250 if the vehicle is returned significantly dirtier than at collection.
• Lost key: Actual replacement costs plus a DKK 250 administration fee.
• Late return may result in a late return fee and documented loss of business.

12. Fines and Charges

• The renter is responsible for all parking fines, speeding fines, tolls, ferry charges and similar costs incurred during the rental.
• LejSmart may charge a reasonable administration fee for processing such cases.

13. GPS and Personal Data

• Vehicles may be equipped with GPS for theft protection, roadside assistance, administration and dispute documentation.
• Personal data is processed in accordance with LejSmart's Privacy Policy.

14. LejSmart's Rights

• LejSmart may cancel or terminate a rental agreement in case of material breach.
• LejSmart may retain or offset amounts from the security deposit where justified.

15. Governing Law and Complaints

• The agreement is governed by Danish law.
• Complaints should first be submitted to LejSmart in an attempt to reach an amicable solution.
